Messe Essen becomes the home of Screen Print Innovations

Screen printing technologies are playing an increasingly important role in all industrial, functional and textile sectors. Messe Essen is taking this development into account from June 3 to 5, 2025. With the Screen Print Innovations event - SPI for short - Messe Essen is presenting a new event on the trade fair floor in cooperation with the organizer ESMA (European Specialists Printing Manufactures Association). Around 100 exhibitors are expected to participate in the industry event. This gives companies in the sector the opportunity to break new ground, develop innovative ideas and prepare their own business for the challenges of the future.

E-world energy & water excludes Russian exhibitors from trade fair participation

The Russian invasion of Ukraine threatens the peaceful coexistence in Europe. As shareholders of E-world energy & water, conIenergy agency and Messe Essen therefore support all sanction measures of the German government and announce that exhibiting companies from Russia will not be allowed to participate in Europe's leading trade fair for the energy industry. The exclusion also applies to companies from Belarus.

Essen applies for the location of the International Broadcast Center

The choice of venues for the 2024 European Football Championship has been made, now the decision on the location of the press center is pending. Essen is applying for the International Broadcast Center (IBC) and is one of the finalists to be visited by the UEFA and the DFB as part of their host city tour. Together with Essen's Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen, Messe Essen received the delegation yesterday and promoted the location as a worldwide broadcasting center. The city of Gelsenkirchen, which with the Arena AufSchalke is one of the host stadiums, is supporting the application of the neighbors from Essen.

Restart of the fair under strict rules

Messe Essen has been waiting a long time for this signal. One thing is now certain: the holding of fairs and congresses in NRW is once again possible with a limited number of participants and in compliance with strict infection protection requirements. This gives the German Top Ten trade fair company an initial perspective of gradually returning to its everyday business. Nevertheless, the standards to be met pose great challenges for all those involved in organising trade fairs. The European Bridal Week trade fair scheduled for July 4 to 6, 2020 is the first event at Messe Essen which is now being prepared under the new rules.

Starting Signal For The Modernisation

After an intensive planning phase, the starting signal for the modernisation was given at Messe Essen today. Together, Essen's Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen and the boss of the fair company Oliver P. Kuhrt opened the new Info Pavilion as a symbol for the start of the construction. Thus, the work on the New Messe Essen has begun officially. In the first construction phase, a glass foyer covering 2,000 m² and thus the new visiting card of Messe Essen will be created in the East entrance area. Inside the site, attention will focus on the clear, single-storey structuring of the halls and on the technical modernisation.
